SafePlans has been awarded a contract to provide Active Shooter Defense training for St. Louis Public Schools. The training, which includes instructor-led seminars, e-learning, practical exercises and drills, will be provided to more than 4,000 district personnel.
The training is based on SafePlans’ “Security Awareness For Educators” or SAFE active shooter prevention and survival training program. SAFE is an element of SafePlans’ Intruderology program, specifically designed to help K-12 schools align with active shooter prevention and survival best practices. The content of this training fully aligns with national and Missouri standard of care guidelines.
In addition to our rapidly expanding active shooter defense training program, SafePlans leads the nation in all-hazards preparedness solutions. The State of Missouri utilizes SafePlans ERIP technology to provide emergency plans, site mapping, security assessments and a powerful emergency plan mobile app completely free to all Missouri K-12 schools (public and private) as part of the Missouri 1Plan system.
“SAFE follows best practices for the State of Missouri Office of Homeland Security and all national level response and preparedness agencies. It is imperative that schools train the plan, and in Missouri the 1Plan system provides world class preparedness technology and resources.” Says SafePlans’ founder and former Missouri State Trooper Brad Spicer. Spicer goes on to explain SAFE takes a more complete risk management approach that expands beyond the basic lockdown concept and integrates prevention resources.
Other response-based trainings like ALICE Training, Strategos and Tier One may not fully implement these prevention strategies and are not integrated with the Missouri Office of Homeland Security’s Missouri 1Plan system.
